What is Wing Chun?

Wing Chun is a simple, direct and effective style of self-defence.

Sometimes referred to as the 'Thinking Person's Martial Art".

It is both scientific and clinical in its execution and depends on quickly overwhelming an attacker using timing, position, speed and the refined delivery of power.

The ability to learn and use Win Chun effectively as a self-defence is within the grasp of anyone who has the desire and patience to learn it.

Because of the refined and scientific nature of the system it has sufficient depth to become a lifetime's study, leading to a profound interest, which with patience and determination, leads to mastery of the style.

Because Wing Chun relies on technique, position, speed and reflex, rather than raw muscle and brute force it is suitable for all, regardless of age or sex.

In fact, the classical history of Wing Chun attributes its origin to a Buddhist nun and the nature of this kung fu style, its concepts and principles makes it highly suitable for women to deal with larger male opponents.

Wing Chun is known for its scientific methods and theories and is Simple, Direct and Effective in its execution.

The goal is not to add more to an already complete system and thus clutter the practitioner's mind or training practice with superfluous theories or techniques, but in fact to add less, in an ever continuous honing of the individual's skills, abilities and responses.
